It's 100% polyester at 220GSM, so it doesn't have that heavy, "formal" drape you'd expect from a cotton blackout panel, but that's the whole idea. In a boutique setting-especially older buildings where windows are oddly shaped or the ceiling heights are a bit off-you want something that pleats sharply and doesn't overpower the room.

We've found this weight works particularly well in modern European-style interiors or heritage conversions where the existing architecture is already the main character. The fabric doesn't fight for attention. It just hangs clean, holds its shape through multiple washes, and doesn't fade after a season in direct sunlight.
Colors:
Now, if someone tells me they want 220GSM polyester and they also need total light blackout, the answer is yes-but with a coating. The base fabric on its own is fine for ambient light control, but for sleeping areas we always recommend adding a blackout layer. The nice thing is the polyester weave accepts the coating evenly, so you don't end up with patchy spots. We've had the same panel spec used across a property, with the coated version in bedrooms and the uncoated version in corridors and common areas, so the visual stays consistent even when the function changes.

FAQ
220GSM sounds light-will it look cheap?
Not at all. The weave structure is tight enough to give it a substantial feel when pleated. The "lightness" mainly helps with installation and maintenance. It's easier to handle during setup and dries faster after cleaning. The drape is clean and tailored, not flimsy.
Can you make it fully blackout?
Yes. We apply a coating that kills over 99% of light. If blackout is your main requirement, ask us for a coated sample first so you can hold it up to your actual window light before committing to the full order.
What fire codes does it meet?
The polyester base can be treated to meet BS5867, NFPA701, or local equivalents. Let us know which standard your project requires and we'll apply the right treatment level.
How do custom sizes work if our windows aren't all the same?
Just send us a list: width, drop, and quantity per variant. We cut and sew each panel to its exact spec. No extra charge for mixing sizes within the same product line-we get that boutique properties rarely have uniform windows.
What colors are available?
Standard colors run from the stock palette. If you need a specific shade to match your interior scheme, we can dye to a Pantone reference, but that may shift the MOQ per color. Check with our sales team on the color-specific minimum.
Lead time?
