Specifications:
The Acoustic Jacquard
Let me start with what this product is not. It's not going to make a room next to a highway sound like a recording studio. A curtain at 319GSM with a textured jacquard weave will reduce some ambient noise transmission through the window area, but the effect is marginal compared to upgrading the glazing or adding a dedicated acoustic membrane. What it does well: it cuts the reverberation of mid- to high-frequency sound within the room itself. The textured surface scatters sound waves that would otherwise bounce off a flat fabric surface and reflect back into the room. The mass absorbs some of the energy. The result is a room that sounds subjectively quieter and less echoey, even if the decibel meter only shows a small change.
If the primary goal is blocking outside noise from entering the room, the BR2111 helps more than a standard 250GSM plain weave but less than a dedicated acoustic curtain with a mass-loaded vinyl layer. I've seen properties install this product and get positive guest feedback about the room feeling quieter, and I've seen properties install the same product and have guests still complain about street noise. The difference usually comes down to the window itself. If the glazing is single-pane or poorly sealed, no curtain at any weight will fix that. If the window is double-glazed and the weak link is the curtain, the BR2111 makes a noticeable difference.
The blackout claim
319GSM in a dark color blocks most light. I'd estimate above 90% for dark tones. It's not total blackout - the weave intersections in a jacquard pattern create tiny gaps that light can pass through, especially with lighter colors. If total blackout is a hard requirement, you need the lined version or a darker color. The fabric does not need a separate blackout backing to function well, but it also does not replace one if your spec calls for 99%+ light suppression.
One thing that matters: because the jacquard surface is textured, the blackout performance is slightly uneven across the pattern. The raised areas of the weave transmit marginally less light than the recessed areas. Under direct sunlight, this can create a subtle pattern shadow on the room side of the fabric. Most guests won't notice it. If your designer is particular about absolute evenness of light exclusion, test a sample in the actual room orientation before committing.

Curtain Design:

Where this weight sits in the product range
The BR2111 at 319GSM is heavier than a standard hotel curtain but well within the range of what standard track systems and motors can handle. Unlike our ultra-heavyweight products that require track upgrades and reinforced hardware, this one works with off-the-shelf hotel-grade tracks. That's the practical advantage: you get better acoustic and blackout performance than a standard curtain without having to redesign the window treatment hardware or increase the installation budget.

The jacquard patterns
Available patterns include damask, stripe, trellis, and geometric options from our existing library. Custom patterns are possible but require the full MOQ per design and add 10-15 working days for pattern development and sampling. The woven pattern holds up better than printed ones through repeated laundering - you won't see fading or cracking at the fold lines after cycle 30.

Key Features:
Blackout:
99.5% light blockage for optimal sleep quality.

Noise Reduction:
Effectively blocks outside noise for a peaceful environment.

Flame-Retardant:
SGS-certified for fire safety.

Smart Control:
Operate via remote, voice control, or app for a seamless experience.

Material & Craftsmanship:
Fabric:
High-quality polyester, durable and easy to clean.

MOQ and phasing
90 pieces per spec. That covers roughly one floor of a typical property. The phasing logic: order floor one, install, evaluate guest feedback and housekeeping workflow, then reorder for floors two and three with any adjustments. This is useful for properties that aren't sure whether 319GSM is the right weight for their specific noise environment and want to validate before scaling.

Quality Certifications:
ISO 9000: International quality management certification.

SGS Certifications: Formaldehyde-free and flame-retardant.

Installation and maintenance
- Installation: Provide professional installation guidance to ensure the curtains are properly installed.
- Maintenance: Easy cleaning and care tips to extend curtain life.

FAQ
How much quieter will the room actually be?
Measurably quieter for mid-frequency sounds like conversation and HVAC hum. The difference is more noticeable in rooms with hard surfaces (tile, glass, hard flooring) where sound bounces around, because the textured fabric surface reduces reverberation. In a carpeted room with upholstered furniture, the marginal benefit of the curtain over a standard fabric is smaller because the room already has sound-absorbing surfaces.
Can I wash it in a standard hotel laundry?
Yes, at 319GSM it's within range of standard commercial washing equipment. The jacquard weave doesn't trap water the way a velvet pile does, so drying time is comparable to a standard curtain of similar weight. The textured surface may show creasing at the fold lines after washing more visibly than a smooth fabric. Heat-set finishing during production reduces this but doesn't eliminate it.
Does the sound absorption work both directions?
Yes, but the primary benefit is reducing sound transmission through the window plane (outside in and inside out). The reverberation reduction inside the room is a secondary effect. If the goal is preventing conference room conversations from being audible in the corridor, the curtain helps but shouldn't be the only acoustic treatment.
Light colors or dark colors - does it matter for performance?
Dark colors absorb more light and slightly more sound energy. The difference in acoustic performance between a black curtain and a cream curtain at the same GSM is negligible. The difference in blackout performance is significant. If blackout is the priority, spec dark tones. If the design requires light colors, plan for the lined version.
What's the real lead time?
20-25 working days for standard patterns and colors from the existing library. Custom pattern development adds 10-15 days. Custom colors add roughly 7 days for dyeing. The bottleneck is usually the color approval step rather than production.
