Specifications:

The Reversible Jacquard

The use case is straightforward: you have a window or partition that's visible from both sides. A typical hotel curtain has a finished face and a plain white or gray backing that's meant to face the wall. It looks fine from inside the room. From the corridor, or from the other side of a glass partition, it looks like the back of a curtain. The HY2413 is finished on both sides with a jacquard pattern. Same or complementary design, depending on what the designer wants.

This matters more than most people expect. In open-plan suites where the curtain separates the sleeping area from the living area, both sides are visible to guests. In glass-walled restaurants, the curtain panels facing the dining room and the ones visible from the street or corridor need to look intentional. In spa treatment rooms, the partition curtain is the same object from both the guest side and the therapist side. The reversible weave solves a visual problem that a standard curtain can't.

The practical specs

369GSM, polyester jacquard. That's heavy enough for clean draping and good light blockage without needing a separate liner. The double-sided weave is tighter than a single-face construction because both surfaces need to hold a pattern, which actually improves the blackout performance compared to a standard curtain at the same weight. You don't lose opacity by making it reversible - you gain a small amount.

Colors:

The weight is manageable. It runs on standard hotel-grade tracks, manual or motorized, without special hardware. It launders the same way as a standard jacquard of similar GSM. The reversible construction means you can rotate the panel during maintenance rotations - flip it end-for-end or side-to-side to distribute wear evenly. That extends the usable life between replacements by roughly 20-30% depending on the installation.

Key Features:

Blackout:

One thing that's not obvious until you install one: the pattern alignment. With a single-face curtain, the pattern direction only matters from one side. With a reversible, the pattern needs to read correctly from both directions, which constrains the pattern geometry. A damask motif works fine because it's symmetrical. A directional geometric pattern that has a clear top-bottom orientation may not work on the reverse side unless the design is adjusted. If the designer has a specific directional pattern in mind, discuss it at the spec stage rather than after the fabric is woven.

The other thing is that the edges need to be finished cleanly on both sides, which adds a step to the production process. The side hems and bottom hem are double-finished. This increases the manufacturing time per panel by about 15-20% compared to a standard curtain. That's already reflected in the lead time.

Where it's been used

Glass-walled restaurants where the curtain is visible from both the dining area and the external walkway. Open-plan suite configurations where the curtain functions as a room divider between the sleeping and living zones. Spa treatment rooms with partition curtains. Conference room window walls visible from inside and from the corridor. In each case, the product was chosen because someone noticed that a standard curtain looked unfinished on one side and didn't want that in the guest's field of view.

6

The patterns

Standard library includes damask, geometric, and stripe motifs available on both faces. Same pattern both sides, or different motifs per face - for example, a solid geometric on the room side and a subtle stripe on the corridor side. Custom pattern development is available at the full MOQ per design.

MOQ

99 pieces per spec (size × pattern × color combination). If the property has three different window sizes, each size counts as a separate spec. For a property with uniform window dimensions across all rooms, one MOQ covers the full rollout. The phasing logic: order one spec for the pilot floor, install and evaluate, then reorder for subsequent floors.

FAQ

Can the patterns be completely different on each side, or do they need to coordinate?

Either works. Completely different patterns on each face is possible but requires a more complex weave setup. Most properties choose coordinating patterns - same motif in different scales, or a solid-and-stripe combination. The loom programming is simpler and the cost is lower than two completely unrelated designs.

Does the reversible weave change the hand feel?

Slightly. A double-faced jacquard feels somewhat denser and less fluid than a single-face jacquard at the same GSM because both surfaces are woven, which adds internal structure. The difference is subtle. If the hand feel is critical to the design, get a sample before spec'ing.

What's the lead time for a custom reversible pattern?

Longer than a standard jacquard because the pattern needs to be designed and programmed for both faces. Standard library patterns run 20-25 working days. Custom patterns add 15-20 days for development, sampling, and approval. The reversible loom setup takes more time than a single-face weave.

Can I reverse the panels during laundering to extend life?

Yes, that's a real benefit. Rotate the panels periodically - reverse the hanging direction so the side that faced the room now faces the window, and vice versa. This distributes UV exposure and dust accumulation more evenly. The reversible construction means both sides are designed to be the "face," so there's no wrong side to show.

Does it work as a room divider in addition to a window curtain?

That's one of the primary use cases. The double-sided finish makes it suitable for freestanding partitions where the curtain is visible from two sides. The 369GSM weight provides enough body that the panel hangs straight without excessive sway in air-conditioned environments, which is a common issue with lightweight dividers.
