Specifications:
Recycled polyester has a marketing problem: everyone claims it, most can't actually trace the feedstock back to the bottle.
The LYT170 is built from 100% post-consumer PET with GRS chain-of-custody documentation.
It's not "eco-friendly" because we say so-it's eco-friendly because there are third-party audit trails tracking the flake from the recycling facility to the extruder to the yarn to the loom.
At 170GSM, this is a lightweight curtain. That's not a compromise, it's the point: less material per panel means less embodied carbon per window.
For a 200-room resort, the carbon difference between a 170GSM recycled panel and a 350GSM virgin-polyester panel is measurable in metric tons, not kilograms.
Curtain Size:
Tropical and coastal resorts where a heavy drape traps heat between the glass and the fabric, making the AC work harder. lightweight construction allows some air circulation behind the curtain, reducing that greenhouse effect.
Floor-to-ceiling residential-style glazing in boutique properties where the window treatment is meant to feel like a soft scrim rather than a wall of fabric.
Layering as the decorative face behind a sheer or in front of a full blackout roller blind, where the recycled content aspect is the selling point to the sustainability committee.

Material & Craftsmanship:
Fabric:
High-quality polyester, durable and easy to clean.

Craftsmanship:
The common narrative is "PET bottles → curtain fabric, clean and simple." The reality involves sorting, hot-washing, flaking, pelletizing, melt-extruding, spinning, texturizing, weaving, and finishing-each step with its own yield loss. A single 1.5-liter PET bottle yields roughly enough fiber for a postcard-sized piece of fabric. Scale that to a 150-room hotel and you're looking at somewhere around 35,000–45,000 bottles diverted from landfill, depending on the exact window dimensions.
The GRS certification matters here less as a marketing badge and more as a guarantee that the recycled content claim isn't inflated with "pre-consumer" waste (which is often just factory floor sweepings that were always going to be recycled). uses post-consumer feedstock-material that had already completed its first life cycle as a consumer product.

Quality Certifications:
ISO 9000: International quality management certification.

SGS Certifications: Formaldehyde-free and flame-retardant.

FAQ
Does the sustainability certification hold up under third-party audit?
Yes. GRS certification is audited annually by an accredited body. The chain-of-custody documents track the material from the recycling facility to the finished fabric. If your project is pursuing LEED or BREEAM, we provide the documentation your assessor needs for Materials & Resources credits.
How does the FR treatment affect the recycled claim?
The FR treatment we apply is a separate layer and doesn't affect the recycled content of the base fabric. If you're trying to maximize your sustainability score, we can spec an FR treatment that itself has reduced environmental impact-some of the newer phosphorus-based FR chemistries are less toxic than the older halogenated formulations.
170GSM feels light-will it hold up to hotel laundry?
We've tested this through 40 commercial wash cycles with no significant change in fabric integrity or appearance. The recycled polyester fiber has the same wash durability as virgin. The real concern with lightweight fabrics is not the washing but the installation-make sure your track or rod allows the curtain to glide freely without bunching, because bunched lightweight fabric is more prone to developing permanent crease lines than a heavier fabric would be.
Can I see a side-by-side of recycled vs virgin before spec'ing?
Yes, and I'd recommend it. Not because the LYT170 looks worse-it doesn't-but because some designers have a mental expectation of what recycled fabric looks or feels like, and seeing a physical sample typically resolves that concern faster than any spec sheet can.
What's the MOQ logic at 150 pieces?
The recycled yarn supply chain requires minimum order quantities from the yarn spinner, which cascades into the fabric production. 150 pieces per design is the floor for an economically viable production run. For pilot installations below that, we can work from remnant stock if available in your color range.
